South Africa’s hard lockdown in 2020 - lasting from March 27 to April 30 - was modelled on Wuhan’s. Lockdown meant different things in different places, but regardless of the context, they disproportionately afflicted those who are and the disadvantaged. Management has been deployed to keep an eye on key locations with higher bus boardings and make adjustments as necessary. We continue to closely monitor ridership levels to identify areas where additional resources can be deployed to meet service demands.
